Sport Taranaki welcomes refreshed partnership with W. R. Phillips Mitsubishi

A new chapter in the partnership between W.R. Phillips Mitsubishi and Sport Taranaki is set to help keep communities moving across the region.

W.R. Phillips Mitsubishi has partnered with Sport Taranaki since 2001 supplying vehicles for staff. The family operated business has traded in Taranaki since 1946 and has a proud history of supporting community groups and events.

Sport Taranaki CEO Michael Carr said refreshing the Sport Taranaki fleet with three Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV vehicles and a Next Generation Outlander for the CEO was an important move to ensure the Sport Taranaki team were there where and when the community needed them.

Three of the cars would be mainly used by the new Healthy Active Learning team, tasked with supporting 30 schools around the region to fostering a lifelong love of an active lifestyle.

“While we can do a lot of work remotely, having the HAL team on the ground in schools makes a massive difference to the program. These cars allow us to travel safely and efficiently around the region to help make a real difference to tamariki and their teachers. We are delighted that W.R. Phillips is working with us to make this happen.”

Dealer Principal Paul Phillips says they were very positive about their continuing partnership with Sport Taranaki.

"We love the direction that Sport Taranaki is heading in with a large emphasis on our youth with their Healthy Active Learning program and believe that continuing to support an organisation, whose values align with our own, will benefit the entire region of Taranaki."
